Biography
Dan O’Neill is a lecturer in ecological economics at the University of Leeds, UK. He is currently on sabbatical, with his time split between the University of Victoria and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Dan’s research focuses on the changes that would be needed to achieve a steady-state economy, and the relationships between resource use and human well-being in the context of planetary boundaries. He is co-author (with Rob Dietz) of Enough Is Enough: Building a Sustainable Economy in a World of Finite Resources, a best-selling book which has been made into a short film. Dan is an associate of the “Living Well Within Limits” project, and a board member of the European Society for Ecological Economics. His latest work, which is supported by a grant from the Leverhulme Trust, investigates how to reconcile the goal of full employment with environmental sustainability in an era of increasing automation.
